Bopping...

Well I guess I better update a little since it's been a little while. Rocky is no longer working at the ski resort in southern Utah. They were going to lay people off and those that stayed would take a pay/hour cut. Since Rocky wants to get a job that deals more with what he went to school for, he took the layoff. Either way, they ended up cutting his position because the company can't afford it so it was a good thing to start looking for something else.

Right now, we're in the Salt Lake area trying a self-imployment gig while Rocky applies for other jobs. Keep your fingers crossed that he'll get something because I know that once he gets his chance, he'll rock the employer's socks off!! :) The self-imployment thing isn't too bad. The company that we're with set us up in a really nice apartment. I feel like I live in hotel suite. I'll post pictures when I can. It's also nice to have a place to ourselves. No, I can't decorate like I want to but I've put up a few decorations here and there. We don't have internet so that's kind of a bummer. We have a nice new computer and no internet. When we decided to get a new computer, it was because we felt it was a necessity to mainly take care of bills online and if I go back to school. Anyways, to get internet here, we'd have to get it through an internet company and pay extra money. Since the apartment complex has a business center, which is where I'm at now, we'll be just fine without the wireless internet for now.

Let's see, I have pictures from my lil sister Amber's prom, my bday, from out home, and I'll have some of the apartment before I post again. We should be able to visit a bunch of temples while we're here so I'll make sure to take pics of them when we visit them.

It's so much nicer being closer to everyone. We were able to go to Talon's blessing yesterday and see a bunch of family. It was just really nice. We get to go home this coming weekend for Mother's Day and I'm excited to see my family and Rock's family. It's just really nice.

Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to go back to school or not. If I do, I want to be an Orthodontic Assistant. I need to find out if Utah/Idaho requires me to complete a formal dental assisting program first before specializing in orthodontics. I'm also trying to decide if I want to try to get a job with a former company just because I got used to doing a lot of things whether it was going to school or working everyday. Then I went to not having much to do. I've been doing a lot of reading which I love and hanging out with cousins Emily and Brinley. I'm just trying to make sure we're going to be settled for at least a couple years before committing to something and then having to leave or quit.

Anyways, that's all I've got for now. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics soon and have an update of some sort. Take care all!

New Little Nephew

Just wanted to post a picture of our new little nephew Talon, born March 4. :) He's a cute little guy!

Hot Dogs & Chocolate Milk, Missions & Pictures

So I'm really thinking I have tons to do and should be doing other things like laundry, dishes, cleaning the bathroom, sweeping floors, mail a bill or two, finish cleaning the bedroom, finish re-re-reorganizing the storage room, etc. as I sat here eating a hot dog (actually a ball park cheese dog) with ketchup and a glass of chocolate milk as my beverage of choice! I've had that for lunch at least 3 days within the past 7 days! I don't know what it is but the meal is amazing! Now a hawaiian pizza complimented with ranch sounds divine for dinner! Unfortunately I'm making the pizza tonight instead of Domino's and we don't have any canadian bacon, just pepperoni for Rocky.

Anyways, we got something amazing in the mail today. It was from Rocky's Grandma and in the envelope were missions for us to complete. In order to complete these missions, we must visit the temple. The reason I found this amazing was how it was a reminder to go visit the temple and welcome the blessings it has to offer. Unfortunately the St. George Temple is closed right now but hopefully we'll be able to go soon.

On another note, I'm saving pictures onto our external hard drive so I can clear the SD cards and take pictures. All 5 that we own are completely full! I had to delete a couple pictures on Rocky's birthday just to take a couple pictures! So I have no idea what pictures are on this particular SD card so for kicks and giggles, I'm going to post a couple pictures from the mystery card. :)

Birthdays!!

Rocky and his mom Cathie both had their birthdays on the 7th. We didn't get to celebrate with Cathie & Arne until the next weekend when they came down & we went to Mesquite. Unfortunately, no pics from that trip but we had a great time.

Anywhoodles, Rocky turned 24 and since it was Superbowl Sunday as well, we had a mix of a superbowl party and a birthday party at one of our friend's house.

Little Nephew Olin

Our little nephew Olin was born Dec. 2 and we were lucky to be able to come up to see him for his blessing and to see family. Being so far away and with Rocky's work, we hadn't been able to see Olin until he was almost 2 months old! He looks like he's growing so fast & he sure is cute. Can't wait to see him again & can't wait for another nephew that will probably be here within the next couple weeks!

Yup, I'm way behind but better late than never...

So, 2009 went by pretty fast! When Thanksgiving and Christmas came along, it just didn't seem like it was that time of year. Right before Thanksgiving, Rocky was given a job opportunity and it's been great for him to get some experience. It's been fun to be in a different place, hanging out with new friends and getting to know old friends better.

On to Christmas~~~

Rocky had to work Christmas day so we didn't get to celebrate Christmas until that night but it was kind of fun to be a little different this year. So here are Christmas pictures, in no particular order. Unfortunately I forgot my camera when we celebrated Christmas with Rocky's family so I'm gonna have to get pictures from them. We got a few of my family; should've got some with my sisters...Dang!

Well a couple quick highlights from 2009:

• We both graduated from college in May
• Rocky got his first job to go towards his career
• We celebrated our 1st year anniversary

I can't really think of very much else at the moment but it was a good year and looking forward to what 2010 has in store.

Exciting News!

So I finally have a little bit of time to tell everyone that Rocky got a job! :) We're pretty excited! The job is in southern Utah at a ski resort where he'll be an electrical technician. I'll hopefully find another job when we get down there. The crazy thing is we leave tomorrow! Everything's packed up and ready to go! We've gotten pretty used to hanging around the home area so it's going to be weird to be farther away but we're excited for a new adventure! Thank you SO much to those you have helped us while we've waited for an opportunity, especially Rocky's parents for shelter and food!! And to Morgan and Brock for letting us (mainly me) get ready for work at their place!
