Reggie Moments at 2 years, 5 months

Little Miss is so much fun these days! She's always been fun with every growing stage she's gone through. It's true with every stage I wish time would slow down and she'd be in that stage longer. Anyways, here are a few of the fun things that she does:

  • She asks us to hold her hand. I love it! It's so sweet.
  • With Rocky and me, she says "please", "thank you" and "you're welcome," sometimes with reminders but usually on her own. She always addresses us in the phrase, "Thank you Mom," "Please Dad," etc.  In public, she'll say "please" and "thank you" on her own.
    • We've been teaching her "you're welcome" for awhile now and she says it so cute and funny. At first, it didn't sound anything like the phrase. As time passes though, it gets closer to sounding like what she's trying to say.
  • She loves fire trucks. She loves looking for them when we're driving around town. She likes the flashing lights and the sirens. A little bit a go, when she heard or saw them, she would say, "I found the wee-ooo-wee-ooo!" (Like the sirens.) Now she says, "There's a fire truck!"
  • She gives directions, she'll say "that way" and point. She's usually right too. She has gotten to know the place pretty well. She knows where home is, the gym and her friends there, the Jamba Juice in a certain grocery store as well as the other Jamba Juice in town, our favorite sandwich shop, Walmart, reading time and the choo-choos, the car wash, where her friends live, and where the church is. She really is too smart!
  • She'll give me kisses when I ask her to or if I make a "kissy" sound/face at her.
  • She loves Welch's fruit snacks and always asks for them at our friend's house. We had to go buy the same ones.
  • She'll eat cheese and toast for breakfast sometimes.
  • She has a "mom-voice." She'll get high-pitched, make sure that you can see her face/eyes and ask questions in what seems a concerned manner. She's definitely got a motherly instinct. She's going to be a wonderful big sister.
  • She'll buckle her stuffed animals in her car seat and give them a toy to play with. Sometimes she'll try to feed them her food. She likes to help feed us too. She'll say, "Try it?" in her mom-voice. It kills me!
  • She loves to climb on everything. She's always been pretty fearless. She moves the chair around and climbs all over in the kitchen. She uses the recliner to get into bed instead of the attached staircase. It really never ends. Any opportunity to climb, she will.
  • If she sees an "owie" on me, she'll point it out and usually kiss it better.
  • When she is nervous, she puts her fingers in her mouth. I feel like she got this from me so I'm trying so hard to break my nail-biting habit and not go back to it.
  • She loves dancing to the music on her favorite shows.
  • Her favorite shows right now are: Tangled, Turbo, Cinderella, The Lion King, Kung-Fu Panda, Brave, Monster's Inc., Finding Nemo, and Curious George.
  • She knows her books, "If you're happy and you know it," and "Mr. Brown can Moo."
  • She loves reading time at the library and at the bookstore. She's starting to participate in the library wiggle activities but has to be by me. This past week though, some little girls were playing ring-around-the-rosy after reading time and she went over to play along with them on her own.
  • In the mornings, she'll ask where daddy is. If she can't find him, she'll say, "Daddy's at work."
  • "Mommy's car" and "Daddy's truck"
  • She likes to look out the window when the garbage truck is picking up trash.
  • "There it is!"
  • After she's been playing or hasn't talked to us for a few minuts, she'll come up to either one of us and say, "Hi Mom/Dad, how are you? Good?"
  • She'll get my phone and call either Rocky or my sister April. She'll also ask to talk to Grandma or Grandpa and sign into Skype.
  • She can count to 10 with a little help around 4, 6, and 7.
  • She talks a ton but because she starts out shy around people, they think she doesn't talk much.
  • She likes to color and to draw circles/bubbles and blocks. One day, after playing with bubbles, she drew on a piece of paper a bunch of circles and I asked her what she drew. She said, "Bubbles!"
  • "Geez" and "Whoa"
I know there's more but that's a good start. Like I said, she's so much fun! :)
